Fingerprinting
The Police Department offers to fingerprint youth in the area at no charge. These fingerprints are then given to the parents to keep updated and in a safe place in the event they may be required later. We encourage all parents, groups, or local organizations to schedule this event with one of our officers. We also fingerprint applicant fingerprint cards at the agency for specific jobs in the community. The cost of this service is $10.
Domestic Violence
The Family Crisis Council serves victims of domestic violence and sexual assault by providing emergency temporary shelter, counseling services, weekly support groups for women and children, safety planning, as well as hospital and court advocacy.

Trespass Agreement Program
The Police Department offers this program to local businesses to act as limited agents of the business to enforce any trespass violations that occur in the absence of the business owner. This program is primarily used for businesses that experience individuals who may come onto their property at times other than normal business hours. The agreement is valid for two (2) years from date executed. If you are an interested business owner, please contact the Police Department for contract.

The Police Department offers various types of safety programs for youth, high school groups, and senior citizens. If you should be interested in a program for your school, group, or organization, please call the Police Department for scheduling the event.
Governor’s Highway Safety Program (GHSP)
Working with other local law enforcement the Police Department actively participates in the GHSP campaigns and events throughout Rowan County. These campaigns include but not limited to Click It or Ticket, Booze It & Loose It, Bike Safe in North Carolina, Child Passenger Safety, No Need to Speed, and Be Safe & Share the Space. These campaigns along with safety education programs, strategic checkpoints, and greater visibility by the traffic units provide the motoring public with a safe driving environment.
“Are You OK”
The RUOK? program is a free service sponsored by Rufty-Holmes Senior Center that the China Grove Police Department participates in. The service is available to any resident of Rowan County who requests a daily telephone safety check. This service includes but is not limited to older adults, or handicapped or homebound persons of any age, social or economic condition. To request this service, call the Rufty-Holmes Senior Center between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday at 704-216-7704. Staff will answer questions and arrange a home visit to obtain basic confidential information to begin the service.

House Watch
The Police Department’s House Watch Program is designed to provide peace of mind to our residents while they are away from home for extended periods of time, whether for vacation, illness, work-related travel, or other circumstances.
